How to find your ferry in Kilini Port
All ferries depart from Kilini Port, a harbor on the western coast of the Peloponnese. The port is relatively small, so spotting your ferry is fairly easy.
Ferries arrive at the main port of Zakynthos, located right in Zakynthos Town, the island's main city.
The high number of people traveling to and from the Ionian islands from Kilini port may cause traffic in the summer months. Therefore, being there at least 1 hour before the official departure time is strongly recommended.
Luggage
Luggage policies in Greek ferries are quite flexible.
Most companies allow 40 kg or 0.5 cubic meters of luggage per passenger and provide a luggage storage area on each ferry. If you wish, though, you can take your luggage with you to the lounges or the deck (if available).
It is highly recommended that you leave bulky suitcases in the designated area and take only your personal belongings (wallet, keys, mobile phone, etc.) with you upstairs.
Traveling with a car
To take your car or motorbike with you to Zakynthos, you need to purchase a vehicle ticket.
Drivers should be at the port 1 to 1.5 hours before the official departure time.
For safety reasons, entrance to the garage is not allowed during the crossing. Note: Many car rental companies do not allow customers to ferry their vehicles. We recommend avoiding purchasing a vehicle ticket before contacting your car rental company.
Alternative ways to reach Zakynthos
Zakynthos has an international airport receiving direct flights both from Athens and from other airports in Greece and Europe. However, compared to ferry tickets, airplane tickets tend to be more expensive. The only way to get to Zakynthos from mainland Greece is through the port of Kilini. Moreover, you can reach Zakynthos by ferry from the beautiful island of Kefalonia, which also boasts an international airport, but only during the high season.

Where to go next
Though Zakynthos is not an ideal base for island-hopping to the Ionian Islands, there are ferries departing for Kefalonia in the summer. From there, you can also visit the mythical island of Ithaca.
