It is expected that the new ferry route connecting directly Piraeus to Rethymnon (Crete) will be launched within the first days of June, 2012. The ferry company is called Cretan Lines and it is a shipping association of Cretan people. The local society of Rethymnon has been long waiting for this direct ferry connnection, as for the last few years the only way to travel to Rethymnon was via the ports of Chania and Heraklion.
The ferry is called Elli T and is expected to start its route in the next days. The tickets are not sold online yet. As the company announced, prices will not differ from prices in ferry routes of Chania and Heraklion.
