The ferry company Blue Star Ferries announced the delivery of the new-built vessel Blue Star Delos. Built at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., Ltd, of Korea, this is the first of the two vessels that the company ordered in June 2009. The other vessel, Blue Star Patmos, is expected to be delivered the first trimester of 2012.
Blue Star Delos has overall length 145.50 meters, speed of 26 knots and capacity to carry 2,400 passengers and 450 private vehicles. Blue Star Delos will be deployed in the route Piraeus-Paros-Naxos-Ios-Santorini.
