Kythira is daily connected with the port of Neapolis in Peloponnese all year round. Three times a week, there is a ferry from Gythio to Kythira, Antikythira and Kissamos Crete. Occasionally in summer, there is also a ferry from Piraeus to Monemvasia, Kythira and Kissamos.

About Kythira

Kythira is a lovely island on the southern side of Peloponnese, geographically located between Peloponnese and Crete. Due to its distance from both the Ionian and the Aegean islands, Kythira has kept a low-key tourist development and it is suggested as the ultimate place for privacy and relaxation.

Mountainous villages, interesting sights and monasteries dot the landscape of Kythira, while the coastline has many wonderful beaches. Some of these beaches are organized, like Kapsali and Agia Pelagia. However, most beaches in Kythira are totally secluded.

The capital of the island is Chora, a picturesque village with a Venetian Castle on the hilltop above. The main port is Diakofti. Nice tourist places with many accommodations and facilities in Kythira are Kapsali, Avlemonas and Agia Pelagia.
